What is The CovOdyssey?

It’s written by me, Ryan Hagen, PhD, a sociologist who specializes in risk, organizations, and the sociology of science, knowledge, and technology. I write it as an open notebook in which I track the pandemic as part of my research. It’s called The CovOdyssey because we’re in for an extremely long and confusing journey through this pandemic. In this troubling time we need to be like Odysseus, “the many-minded hero,” who can “master every circumstance,” whose “plans are always changing,” who, against a protean train of setbacks is “adaptable [and can] always find solutions.”
